PLN Proposes Expansion Of Customer Tariffs For MRT To High-speed Trains
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) proposed an expansion of the tariff category and did not change the amount of the existing electricity tariff.
This expansion aims to accommodate customers of high-speed trains, LRT, MRT to Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU).
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said the purpose of expanding tariffs is to improve services, efficiency, and optimal reliability of electricity for the community, taking into account equipment investments in electrical connection, network maintenance, and efficiency in land use for electricity infrastructure to customers.
Arifin said, referring to Article 34 of Law Number 30 of 2009 concerning electricity, the proposed tariff needs approval from the DPR RI.
"The benefits of expanding the customer tariff group provide benefits for customers to ensure that the electricity needs can be met optimally," he said at a Working Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI quoted on Wednesday, March 20.
Arifin continued, while the benefit of expanding the customer tariff category for the government is to be able to create an attractive business environment and maintain state fiscals, and for PLN in the form of an Increase in revenue and optimize energy production more efficiently.
He detailed that the first proposal was for high-voltage TRActions for the 30,000 kVA power train and above which will be used to meet electricity for new public transportation needs, such as MRT, LRT and high-speed trains.
Second, low and high voltage. Low strain power up to 200Kva and high voltage 30,000Kva and above to support public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) and SPBKLU.
Then proposals for the expansion of high rainfall as support for business areas such as industries in Central Java, East Java, Kendal, West Java, and Krakatau Daya Listrik.
Third, the power-high-voltage business of 30,000 kVA and above. This proposal is to support data centers such as Microsoft, Amazon and web service.
Finally, the expansion of the tariff category for middle-voltage households with power above 200 kVA for luxury households or very capable.

Arifin said that this proposal had been discussed in the focus group discussion (FGD) between the Directorate General of Electricity (Gatrix), Commission VII DPR RI, and PLN on March 14, 2024.
Later the proposed tariff expansion will be socialized to the public first so that it can be understood
