Jokowi Is Greeted By Meriah Arriving In Singjawang, West Kalimantan

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was greeted with a traditional procession when he arrived at Singkawang Airport, Singkawang City, West Kalimantan Province for a working visit.

According to information received in Jakarta, Wednesday, President Jokowi arrived at Singkawang Airport at around 09.00 WIB, Wednesday, March 20.

The President was welcomed by the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi, Acting Governor of West Kalimantan (Kalbar) Harisson, Pangdam XII/Tanjungpura Major General TNI Iwan Setiawan, West Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto, Danlanud Harry Hadisoemantri Lt. Col. Pnb. Dion Aridito, and Acting Mayor of Singkawang, Sumastro.

Then President Jokowi received a calcification of Kalimantan's typical beads and the use of steps, namely head coverings as a sign of welcome.

The President's arrival was accompanied by the Tiangyu dance and the Barongsai dance performed by the sons and daughters of the West Kalimantan region.

Chairman of the Association of Cultural Arts and Remembrance Nazam, Singkawang City, Ashari Arhap, explained that welcoming involved customs and culture from three ethnic groups in Singkawang City, namely Chinese, Dayak, and Malay.

According to him, this symbolizes interethnic harmony in Singkawang.

"We introduce how beautiful we will be here, our interethnic tolerance is maintained and we improve and preserve so that this culture is not lost in the times, both from Chinese, Dayak, and Malay or ethnic groups that vary in Singkawang City," said Ashari.

The welcoming procession was then continued with the customs of the Tawar Flour and prayer reading.

After welcoming him, President Jokowi then reviewed a number of facilities, facilities, and infrastructure at Singkawang Airport.
