The Prosecutor's Office Files Cassation On The Case Of An Ecstasy Factory In Semarang

The Central Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) filed an appeal to the Supreme Court on the appeal decision of two defendants in the case of an ecstasy maker factory in Semarang City, Aldina Rahmat Danny and Muhammad Reza.

Head of the Legal Information Section of the Central Java Prosecutor's Office, Arfan Triono, said the cassation was carried out because the decisions of the Semarang City District Court and the Central Java High Court were far below the demands of the public prosecutor.

"The verdict has not fulfilled the sense of justice," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 19.

The two convicts were sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Semarang City District Court which was upheld by PT Jawa Tengah.

Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor's demands against the two convicts are life imprisonment.

"The actions of the two convicts do not support the government in efforts to eradicate drugs," he said.

Aldina Rahmat Danny and Muhammad Reza were arrested by the Central Java Police at a house in Pelebon, Semarang City, which is an ecstasy factory in 2023.

Both of them are suspected of being drug makers with evidence of dozens of kilograms of raw materials containing dangerous substances.
