Had Lost Hearing, Paul Simon's Left Ear Condition Improved

JAKARTA - The singer and songwriter from the United States, Paul Simon, revealed that his hearing improved again and became comfortable to return to music.

In 2023, the member of Simon & Garfunkel reported that he had almost lost all his hearing ability in his left ear. This makes him unable to appear live.

"No one has an explanation of it. So things get more difficult. My reaction to it is frustration and annoyance, not angry enough, because I think it will pass, and will recover by itself," Paul Simon quoted People as saying, Tuesday, March 19.

However, currently Simon said his hearing was gradually improving, although not as it used to be. He also returned to the comfort of returning to music.

"It came back to a sufficient level, so I felt comfortable singing and playing guitar and playing some other instruments," Simon said.

"I can hear my voice according to my wishes in the context of music. If there are drums or electric guitars too loud, I can't hear my voice. But when I first lost my hearing, I couldn't, it made me feel hopeless. Everything came from this side."

For information, Paul Simon is known along with his duet friend, Art Garfunkel. They are known as duo folk rock with hits such as The Sound of Silence, The Boxer, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Scarborough Fair, and Mrs. Robinson.
