Encourage Optimization Of MSMEs, Residents Appreciate PT IWIP
JAKARTA - PT Indonesia Weda Bay Industrial Park (IWIP) held an MSME Development activity at Site Tanjung Ulie, Central Weda, Central Halmahera, North Maluku, Thursday 7 March. This event is an effort by IWIP as a commitment to continue to encourage local MSMEs around industrial areas.
Vice President of IWIP, Kevin He said, this activity was held in order to establish good relations with MSMEs based on the principle of mutually beneficial cooperation.
"The purpose of this activity is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of business and operational processes as an answer to the digital era," Kevin explained in his statement, quoted on Tuesday, March 19.
Kevin continued, the role and synergy of all stakeholders, both IWIP, central and regional governments, as well as MSME players, is very necessary to be able to answer these challenges.
"Synergy between IWIP, the central and regional governments, as well as MSME players is the key to overcome existing challenges," said Kevin.
In line with Kevin, Acting Regent of Central Halmahera, Ikram M Sangaji, said that Weda Tengah as an industrial area requires regulation at the central level so that it can strengthen this cooperation.
"Sometimes the partnership pattern that the company builds requires adjustments so that the regulation at the central level becomes our reference framework in the regional government to ensure and strengthen partnerships," he explained.
Ikram hopes that the pattern of partnership and MSME development can be sustainable in order to support nickel industrialization activities in Halteng.
"We want this partnership to build a synergy for local economic empowerment," he said.
The coaching activity received a positive response and appreciation from MSME entrepreneurs. Suhardi, for example, the trader at Gate 2 kiosk admitted that coaching MSMEs is very important.
"I am grateful to IWIP for providing guidance, especially for small and medium enterprises, because with coaching, we can learn how to manage MSMEs to be even better," he explained.
According to him, the involvement of local entrepreneurs in nickel industrialization is proof of IWIP's seriousness in efforts to achieve the prosperity of the community.
The impact of the presence of Weda Bay Project was also felt directly by Sutarmi. At kiosk number 46, the resident of Woejerana Village, Weda Tengah peddled groceries and various types of vegetables he bought from the area in Central Halmahera and its surroundings, such as Trans Waleh, Trans Maidi, and Wairoro.
"Alhamdulillah, once I can sell here after getting a recommendation from the village head," said Sutarmi. Before there was an IWIP I only sold at home, thank God after IWIP I was able to sell here, and in terms of income it also increased," he continued.
By selling at Gate 2 he can enliven his children and build a house. Sutarmi is not alone, in the Gate 2 area now there are 53 kiosks which are each filled by the community around the Weda Bay Industrial Estate.
