Hyundai Again Working On Ioniq 5 XRT, Electric Car With Off-Road Capability

JAKARTA - Introduced globally in early 2021, Hyundai Ioniq 5 managed to attract public attention thanks to its radical design and impressive performance of electric motors and batteries.

This product was then expanded to various segments, including high-performance EVs through the Ioniq 5 N variant which received a positive response. Not satisfied with this achievement, this South Korean manufacturer intends to expand the product line by introducing an off-road style.

Reporting from Carscoops, Tuesday, March 19, Hyundai is preparing an Ioniq 5 with a different concept for the XRT variant. This variant is projected to be a tough version of Ioniq 5 with the ability to walk on all terrain.

This can be seen from the picture caught on camera when the car was being tested on the streets of the United States. Although most of the designs are still covered by camouflage, the car looks stronger than the standard version.

This crossover looks equipped with a roof rail and black plastic body coating. Furthermore, this car has smaller tires with a ground clearance that looks higher than other types.

The XRT type is also equipped with the latest front bumper with cube-shaped accents. However, the back of the car is still closed tightly, assuming that there is a significant change in that section.

Information about this variant is still limited, but it is likely that Ioniq 5 XRT will carry an all-wheel drive system (AWD) supported by the tough performance of a double electric motor.

Thus, this car is expected to have a combined power of 320 dk and a peak torque of 604 Nm in collaboration with a 77.4 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 418 km when the battery is fully charged.

Trim XRT is a strong variant of Hyundai's product line with the ability to bulldoze off-road terrain. Currently, manufacturers have successfully sold several models with similar variants, such asiri, Palisade, Santa Cruz, and Santa Fe.
