Sri Mulyani Reports State Budget Surplus Of IDR 22.8 Trillion Until March 15, 2024

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the 2024 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) scored a surplus of IDR 22.8 trillion until March 15, 2024, equivalent to 0.10 percent of gross domestic product (GDP).

Sri Mulyani conveyed that the APBN surplus until March 15, 2024, was lower than the same period last year, which was recorded at IDR 122.9 trillion.

"The total posture of the State Budget until March 15, 2024, has a surplus of Rp. 22.8 trillion compared to last year's surplus of Rp. 122.9 trillion. This is a sharp decline, but we are still quite in surplus until March 15", said Sri Mulyani in a Joint Meeting of Commission XI DPR RI, Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Sri Mulyani explained that the APBN surplus in mid-March 2024 came from state revenues of Rp493.2 trillion. This realization reached 17.6 percent of the 2024 State Budget target.

"Our state revenue reached Rp493.2 trillion, an increase of Rp93 trillion from the realization at the end of last month. However, compared to last year, it contracted 5.4 percent and has reached 17.6 percent of the target this year," he explained.

Meanwhile, state revenues of Rp493.2 trillion came from tax revenues of Rp399.4 trillion, including taxes of Rp342.9 trillion, customs and excise of Rp56.5 trillion. And PNBP of Rp93.5 trillion and grants of Rp200 billion.

On the other hand, the realization of state spending until March 15, 2024, reached IDR 470.3 trillion or reached 14.1 percent of the ceiling.

Consisting of the central government amounting to IDR 328.9 trillion and transfers to the regions of IDR 141.4 trillion.

Sri Mulyani conveyed that with the performance of the APBN which experienced a surplus, the primary balance in mid-March 2024 was also a surplus of IDR 132.1 trillion.

"Our primary balance is still experiencing a surplus of IDR 132.1 trillion. This means that there has been a decline in the prime balance surplus last year to 15 March at IDR 213 trillion for primary balance," he said.
