KPU: West Java Cancels National Recapitulation Because It Is Still A Plenary Meeting

KPU member Idham Holik said the West Java Provincial KPU canceled its national recapitulation on Monday night because it was still holding a plenary meeting to recapitulate the results of the provincial level 2024 election votes.

"Currently, a plenary recapitulation meeting is still ongoing at the West Java KPU," said Idham as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 18.

In addition, the West Java KPU still has to follow up on the decision of the local General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) regarding data matching the votes acquired by political parties.

Idham ensured that the West Java KPU would participate in the national recapitulation process on Tuesday (19/3). "God willing, tomorrow we will come," he added.

The KPU previously scheduled the KPU for Southwest Papua and West Java Provinces to attend a plenary meeting to recapitulate the results of calculating the vote acquisition for the 2024 General Election at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Monday night.

"For tonight, Southwest Papua and West Java," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari.

The recapitulation for the two provinces will begin at 20.30 WIB. Therefore, the KPU will suspend the recapitulation process on the 20th day.

"Therefore, we will suspended this first, later we will continue at 20.30 for the two regions that have arrived according to the order," he explained.
