KPK Strengthens Coordination With Ministry Of Finance Investigate Corruption Of Metal Anode Processing That Ensnared Boss Loco Montrado

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the alleged corruption in processing metal anodes that ensnared the President Director (Director) of PT Loco Montrado, Siman Bahar, was being handled. Currently, coordination with the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) is being carried out.

"What is in the Ministry of Finance is coordination from us, from the KPK is processed there. Therefore, it is still in the process there," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted Monday, March 18.

Ali said this coordination was needed because it intersects with irregularities in gold import transactions worth Rp. 189 trillion which was found by the Ministry of Finance. Indeed, there is a continuation so that the process runs," he said.

He ensured that Siman would be held accountable for his actions in this corruption case. However, this process is still waiting for sufficient evidence and the results of coordination are declared sufficient.

"Later, when it's enough, both here and the Ministry of Finance or other APHs, yes, we will definitely convey it because it is still in process," said Ali.

Previously reported, Siman Bahar was again announced as a suspect in the Metal Anode processing case at PT Aneka Tambang (AT) Tbk and PT Loco Montrado (LM) on Monday, June 5, 2023. This announcement was made again by the KPK after he won pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court (PN).

In addition, his name also appeared in the trial of the former General Manager of the Mulia Metal Processing and Purification Business Unit, PT Antam (Persero) Tbk Dody Marbeli. He is suspected of enriching himself to Rp100,796,544,104.35 through this collaboration.
