Nio Presents A New Battery 75 KWh Cheaper And Powered
JAKARTA - Nio officially introduced the latest 75 kWh standard battery using LFP cells (Lithium Iron Phosphate) only. This indicates a change from the previous generation that combined LFP cells and ternary (NCM). This transition is believed to further suppress the cost of producing Nio electric cars.
Previously, reported from CNevpost, Monday, March 18, in September 2021, Nio launched a hybrid battery package of 75 kWh. This is the first time the Chinese manufacturer has used more affordable LFP cells. However, in that generation, the standard package still uses a small number of NCM ternary cells (nickel, cobalt, and manganese).
Now, Nio announced that their standard 75 kWh battery pack will fully use LFP cells. This decision further confirms Nio's focus on reducing the cost of producing their electric vehicles.

According to Nio's official statement, the delivery of the technology-enhanced 75 kWh standard battery pack will begin soon. The increase includes optimizing the algorithm, material, and battery performance.
This latest 75 kWh standard battery uses CATL-made LFP cells. Nio claims the accuracy of this new battery SOC (State of Charge) estimate is equivalent to a hybrid package that combines Li-ion and LFP ternary cells. In fact, Nio mentioned that this latest package is at the forefront of industry in terms of the accuracy of LFP cell estimation, especially in low-temperature environments.
In addition, Nio made a number of improvements to their standard 75 kWh battery. Among them:
Nio's delivery with the upgraded 75 kWh standard battery pack will begin soon along with the launch of the 2024 Nio electric car.
