Target Complete Recapitulation Monday, 7 KPU Members Will Submit Determination Of 2024 Election Results

JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) August Mellaz said that the seven members of the general election organizers would submit the determination of the results of the 2024 General Election.

The seven members of the Indonesian KPU in question are August Mellaz, Betty Epsilon Idroos, Mochammad Afifuddin, Parsadaan Harahap, Yulianto Sudrajat, Idham Holik, and including Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari.

"So, later there will be an open plenary meeting held by the Indonesian KPU. So, the seven of us will convey it (the results of the 2024 General Election) to the public, it will be held like that," Mellaz said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 17.

However, Mellaz said that the focus of the Indonesian KPU at this time is to ratify the vote acquisition for the 2024 General Election, which leaves five provinces out of a total of 38 provinces.

"What is clear is that our target is to ratify each province. The issue of national determination will be another matter. Later we will discuss it again in plenary," he said.

Meanwhile, RI KPU member Idham Holik said that in principle the results of the 2024 General Election could be determined on Monday if the five provinces and one region of the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) had been fully ratified.

"In principle, when everything is finished, it will be immediately determined by the Chairman of the Indonesian KPU," said Idham to the media crew by telephone in Jakarta, Sunday.

Idham also said that his party opened the possibility to determine the election results on Tuesday (19/3) in the morning if the recapitulation carried out on Monday 18 March can be completed.

"In principle, we work effectively, efficiently, yes, that's it. That's the only principle," he said.

The Indonesian KPU targets the recapitulation of the remaining five provinces, namely West Java, Papua, Mountains Papua, Southwest Papua, to Maluku, to be completed on Monday (18/3).

West Java is scheduled for 10.00 WIB. Then, the Southwest Papua KPU will be in Jakarta at 12.00 WIB, while Papua and Papua Mountains will arrive in Jakarta at 19.00 WIB.

Furthermore, some of the Maluku KPU will be in Jakarta at 20.00 WIB. Meanwhile, the Indonesian KPU opened up opportunities to stimulate PPLN Kuala Lumpur on Monday (18/3).

Based on the "Plenary Meeting of Recapitulation of National Level Vote Accounting Results" conducted by the Indonesian KPU on Wednesday (28/2) until Monday (4/3), the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair won 421,605 votes in 127 PPLN areas.

In second place is Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with 120,085 votes, and the last position is Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md who received 117,351 votes.

One PPLN area that has not been ratified by the Indonesian KPU is PPLN Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Meanwhile, based on the national recapitulation as of Saturday (9/3) to Sunday (17/3) at 18.00 WIB, the Indonesian KPU has approved the vote acquisition for the presidential election at 32 provinces at the national level.

The 32 provinces include Special Regions of Yogyakarta, Gorontalo, Central Kalimantan, Bali, Lampung, Bangka Belitung, West Kalimantan, South Sumatra, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, and Riau Islands,

Furthermore, East Nusa Tenggara, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Banten, East Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, East Java, West Sulawesi, Riau, West Papua, and North Sulawesi.

Next, Bengkulu, West Sumatra, South Sulawesi, Aceh, West Nusa Tenggara, South Papua, Jambi, North Maluku, North Sumatra, and Central Sulawesi.

The Prabowo-Gibran pair won 76,250,286 votes in the 32 provinces. Furthermore, Anies-Muhaimin received 30,989,627 votes, and Ganjar-Mahfud won 23,126,255 votes.

The 2024 presidential election was attended by three pairs, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar candidate pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka candidate pair number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. candidate pair number 3.

In accordance with KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the recapitulation of the 2024 General Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024.
