Head Of BNPB Reviewing Flood-affected Locations In Kendal
KENDAL - Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, visited the flood-affected locations in Kendal Regency, Central Java, Sunday 17 March. The visit was a marathon activity carried out by the Head of BNPB to ensure that disaster management efforts could be carried out as well as possible.
The allocation visited by the Head of BNPB in Kendal Regency is Griya Praja Mukti Housing, Langenharjo Village, Kendal District. Upon arrival at the location, the Head of BNPB was greeted by the Regent of Kendal, Dico M Ganinduto, the Chief Executive of BPBD Central Java Province, Bergas C Penangsangan and the ranks of the Kendal Regency forkopimda.
At that location, the Head of BNPB and his entourage walked along residential areas that were still flooded with a water level of between 25-30 centimeters. The condition was observed, the inundation had gradually receded compared to the previous day.
"Alhamdulillah, today has relatively receded. Earlier, the Regent explained that there was a height of one meter. But now the average is already below the knee," said Suharyanto.
On that occasion, the Head of BNPB also held a dialogue with the community to absorb aspirations as evaluations in disaster management in Kendal. To the public, the Head of BNPB left a message of condolences from President Joko Widodo for the disasters that occurred due to extreme weather and disturbances in the atmosphere and the indirect impact of cyclone seeds in the southern Indian Ocean of Indonesia.

According to the Head of BNPB, his presence in Kendal is also on the orders of President Joko Widodo to ensure that all basic needs of the affected residents can be met.
"Mr. President conveys a message of condolences for this flood disaster. We BNPB are ordered by the President to ensure that the basic needs of the community must be considered," said the Head of BNPB.
At the direction of the President, BNPB provided logistical assistance and equipment in the form of 300 packages of basic necessities, 300 packages of ready-to-eat food, 300 packs of protein biscuits, 300 packs of hygiene kits, 1008 bottles of liquid soap, 300 sheets of blankets, 300 sheets of mattresses, 25 units of vent beds, 10 units of alcon pumps, 2 units of solar panels, 50 units of family tents, 2 units of refugee tents, rubber boats along 1 unit of engine and 1 unit polythieu boat.
The provision of assistance was symbolically carried out by the Head of BNPB together with the Kendal Regent to affected residents in the courtyard of the Pekauman Village office, Kendal District.
