Permit To Stay In Trouble And Involved In Criminal, 5 Foreigners Deported Throughout 2024

SEMARANG - The Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) Semarang noted that five foreign nationals (WNA) had been deported throughout 2024.

Juru bicara Rudenim Semarang Ruben Anderson di Semarang, menyebut lima WNA tersebut dipulang ke negara asalnya tidak secara bersamaan.

The five foreigners, among others, came Algeria, Srilanka, and Nigeria.

According to him, the reason for the repatriation of the foreigners was due to the problem of residence permits.

"Then there are foreigners who have just finished their sentences in prisons, then they are sent home," he said.

He gave an example of a Nigerian citizen who was sent home after completing his sentence at the Semarang Prison.

During the repatriation, he said, coordination had previously been carried out with the embassy of the country concerned.

"Officers escort the detainees to the airport and ensure that they enter the plane," he said.

Until now, he continued, there are still seven detainees at the Semarang Rudenim and are still waiting for the repatriation process.
