Sucofindo Checks The Halalness Of Products From 2 Business Actors From Japan
PT Superintending Company of Indonesia (Sucofindo) conducted an examination of the halal products of two Japanese business actors, namely Umeken Co, Ltd and Ichimaru Pharcos Co, Ltd.
Sucofindo, which is part of the BUMN holding for this survey service or ID Survey, conducted an inspection from its own auditor.
"The inspection process is carried out by our auditors, carried out onsite by prioritizing independence, carefully and professionally to ensure that products meet halal standards," said Head of the Halal Unit Sucofindo Agus Suryanto quoting Antara.
He said that later the results of the halal audit report of the Sucofindo Main Halal Examining Agency (LPH) team would be tried by the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
Furthermore, the fatwa trial will issue a halal stipulation on which the Halal Product Guarantee Administration (BPJPH) is based to issue a halal certificate.
For information, supplement products from Umeken have been circulating in several countries and are currently targeting the Indonesian market.
Likewise with cosmetic products from Ichimaru. Therefore, the two companies are trying to adjust to regulations in Indonesia. Aggregator company Halalin also accompanies the halal certification process for Umeken and Ichimaru.
Agus appreciated the two business actors from Japan for having awareness of consumer safety regulations and guarantees in Indonesia.
According to him, halal certification is not only an abortion of export obligations and expansion to Indonesia but also a form of concern for the guarantee of quality, hygiene, and product security for the Muslim community.
Apart from Japan, LPH Sucofindo has also carried out halal audit processes in various countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, India, China, Korea, and the United States.
As the Main LPH, Agus said that his party is ready to serve inspection activities and/or testing the halalness of other products with wider coverage nationally and internationally.
"LPH Sucofindo is ready to support the 2024 October Halal Mandatory (WHO) for imported products, especially food, beverage products, slaughter products, and slaughter services. Including raw materials, additional food ingredients, and auxiliary materials for food and beverage products," said Agus.
