The Judge Ordered The Prosecutor To Name The Former Regent Of The Tanimbar Islands As A Corruption Suspect
AMBON - A judge at the Ambon Corruption Court ordered the public prosecutor of the Tanimbar Islands District Attorney's Office (KKT) to name the former KKT Regent with the initials PF alias Petrus as a suspect in the alleged fictitious SPPD budget corruption in 2020.
"The PF has a role in this case and if it is not named a suspect, the panel of judges will write to the Indonesian Attorney General's Office," said Ambon Corruption Court Chief Justice Rahmat Selang during a hearing in Ambon as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 15.
The trial presented two defendants in the case of alleged corruption in the official travel budget or a fictitious Official Travel Order (SPPD) of the KKT Regional Secretariat in 2020, namely Ruben M. Moriolkosuselaku, the Regional Secretary of the KKT in 2020 and Petrus Masela as Treasurer of the KKT Regional Secretariat.
The defendant Ruben benefited himself by Rp455,647,264 and benefited others, in this case, the witness PF Rp314,598,000, while the defendant Petrus made a profit of Rp160,000,000.
The defendant Ruben has also returned part of the state financial losses through the prosecutor amounting to Rp106,892,000 and has been deposited into the Ambon District Court account at the time of the delegation of the case.
Prosecutor of the KejariKKT Ricky Ramadhan Santoso in reading his indictment explained the occurrence of corruption at the KKT Regional Secretariat due to PF's order at that time in his position as regent.
Therefore, the panel of judges has ordered the Public Prosecutor to present PF as the first witness in this case at next week's trial with the agenda of examining witnesses.
"So, PF deserves to be named a suspect because on the orders of the defendants Ruben and the defendant Petrus gave some money to a number of parties," explained the judge.
In fact, the defendant Ruben had given an explanation to PF that there was no budget post to finance the regent's policy. However, at that time PF still forced and ordered the defendant to comply with his orders.
