Jokowi To North Sumatra's Gelugur Market, Traders Call Chili Prices Down, Rice Supply Increases In The Last Few Days
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) checks the stability of food commodity prices in Gelugur Market, Rantauprapat, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra).
During his visit, the head of state had a dialogue with a trader named Hardiansyah Rambe regarding the stability of food prices in the month of Ramadan in the market.
Hardiansyah said the prices of several commodities such as chilies had decreased.
"Alhamdulillah, for the past few days, chilies have fallen from 80 (iri) to 64 (ribu), thank God the rice has also been supplied," said Hardiansyah based on a press release, Friday, March 15, which was confiscated by Antara.
Hardiansyah hopes that food prices can be stable, especially when prices tend to increase in the transition season. In addition, Hardiansyah also hopes that there will be an increase in rice stocks in order to maintain price stability.
"I hope this rice will be added to the food stock, because the price is high," he said.
Not only traders, local residents also get the opportunity to meet with President Jokowi.
