PSSI Chairman: Thom Haye And Ragnar Oratmangoen Can Take The Oath Of Indonesian Citizens Next Week
JAKARTA - The General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Erick Thohir, revealed the continuation of the naturalization of Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen. Both are trying to take an oath next week.
As is known, the Indonesian national team will play two matches against Vietnam in the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone.
The first clash will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on March 21, 2024. Then, the Indonesian national team will travel to The Golden Star headquarters at My Dinh Stadium on March 26, 2024.
Initially, Thom and Ragnar were evacuated to appear for the Indonesian national team since the first clash against Vietnam.
The strong reason is that the naturalization of the two players has not yet been completed. However, the process continues and their documents have been signed by the Chairman of the DPR RI.

This means that Ragnar and Thom are just waiting for the issuance of a Presidential Decree (Keppres).
Regarding the Presidential Decree, the General Chairperson of PSSI said that the issuance would come out in the next one to two days. He also tried to take the oath of Indonesian citizens Ragnar and Thom next week.
Seeing the latest developments conveyed by Erick Thohir, it is possible that the two players will be able to join the Indonesian national team during the first meeting against Vietnam.
"Thank God, yesterday the leadership of the DPR came out and we received it yesterday (13/3/2024) afternoon. Then, today (14/3/2024) entered the Minister of State Secretary."
"Hopefully for one or two days the President can issue a letter (Keppres). So, next week an oath can be taken for Thom Haye and Ragnar (Oratmangoen)," said Erick Thohir when met in Central Jakarta on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
On March 11, 2024, several candidates for naturalization of the Indonesian national team, such as Thom Haye, Ragnar Oratmangoen, and Nathan Tjoe-A-On reportedly came to Indonesia.
However, only Nathan actually underwent the oath of Indonesian citizens in the evening at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen failed to take the oath because at that time they were still waiting for the naturalization file to be signed.
Although the process is still ongoing, Erick Thohir ensures that everything goes well and will accelerate so that the two names can immediately hold the status of Indonesian citizens.
"If Nathan (Tjoe-A-On) happens to have done the process. So, yesterday it did come to take the oath," said Erick Thohir.
"However, we also encourage the acceleration that we did for Thom and Ragnar. There are letters that must follow yesterday because in naturalization this needs completeness of the letter."
"Moreover, it has been pushed from the DPR to the President to be sworn in. So, there are several things that must be completed, but everything is going well," he said.
The acceleration pursued by the Chairman of PSSI regarding the naturalization process of Thom and Ragnar cannot be separated from the desire that these two names can immediately join the Indonesian national team.
