JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR from the PAN faction, Guspardi Gaus, supports the Draft Government Regulation (RPP) on State Civil Apparatus Management (ASN) which regulates leave for men whose wives give birth. Currently, the rules related to the right to leave of the father are being drafted by the government through the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB). "If indeed it is for the good of the ASN, of course we Commission II as partners will support policy steps related to the role of the ASN whose wives give birth and can accompany when their children are born," said Guspardi to reporters, Friday, March 15. According to the legislator of the West Sumatra electoral district, the discourse on father's rights is a breakthrough which will also have an impact on family harmony in Indonesia. In addition, said Guspardi, it could have a positive impact on the performance of the ASN. "These are the rights of the ASN. If this has been made the rules, of course this has legal certainty. More concrete, there is clear certainty than unclear permissions," said Guspardi. "So part of controlling and giving humanitarian rights from the ASN whose wives gave birth," he continued. Therefore, Guspardi said there was no rejection from Commission II of the DPR in discussing the rules later with Kemenpan RB. "We give appreciation to the government if indeed there is a breakthrough made related to the husband's leave for his wife who will give birth," he concluded.
