Geger Temuan Diduga Bom Di Southampton, Jihandak Diterjunkan, Occupita Gedung Dievakuasi

JAKARTA - Southampton residents in England were shocked by the object suspected of being a bomb found in a highway repair project in the city center.

The suspected bomb object was found by project officers in Cumberland Place on Thursday, March 14 morning local time.

"There was an emergency incident in the area of the Ring Road repair project (Brunswick Place, Cumberland Place, and Jalan Havelock)," said the Southampton City Council, quoted from Mirror.co.uk, Thursday, March 14.

The police who headed to the location took anticipatory action by closing the road around the discovery and installing a police line.

The occupants of the buildings around the location where the suspected explosives were found were evacuated.

The local military Explosives Disposal Company (Jhandak) was deployed to the location.

"The police are currently at the location and the Ring Road and nearby footpaths have been closed for public safety," he said.

Currently, Jihandak has secured the alleged bomb object to the lab for further investigation.

The police have also slowly opened the road closure around the location of the discovery.

The Hampshire spokesman, Constabulary, added that the suspected object containing the explosives was a small fraction of the weaponry that was still active.

"We were summoned at 10.20 this morning on reports of the alleged small fraction of weapons that had not exploded at road repairs in Southampton," he said.
