There Are Korean Companies Interested In Investing In Energy And Environment In Medan
JAKARTA - The City Government (Pemkot) of Medan, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) said that a company from Korea, Energy Power Cp Ltd, is interested in investing in energy and the environment in Medan City.
"We agreed to form a joint team to finalize the plan and realize the cooperation," said Medan City Bappeda Head Benny Iskandar, after receiving Vice President Energy Power Cp Ltd Lee Jung Hak, in Medan, quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 14.
His party welcomes the arrival of Energy Power Cp Ltd and is very open to any investment that enters the capital city of North Sumatra Province, including from Korea.
In addition to the energy sector, said Benny, the Medan City Government is also open to other types of investment, including waste management, waste and clean water supply.
"We welcome (Welcome, Red) all types and aspects of investment. If needed, we will prepare an investment profile," said Benny accompanied by the Head of the Medan City Environment Agency Muhammad Husni.
Data from the Investment and One Stop Integrated Service of North Sumatra Province stated that investment realization in January-September 2023 reached IDR 31.39 trillion and absorbed 47,792 Indonesian workers.
Domestic investment (PMDN) was recorded at IDR 16.85 trillion and foreign investment (PMA) was IDR 14.54 trillion, and Medan City was ranked second with an investment value of IDR 5.52 trillion, after Simalungun Regency worth IDR 6.71 trillion.
"The city of Medan has also collaborated with sister city (twin city) with Gwangju City, South Korea," said Benny as well.
Vice President Energy Power Cp Ltd Lee Jung Hak said his company is engaged in energy related to the environment in Medan City.
His party is interested because of the commitment of the Indonesian government, including the city of Medan, to implement a policy of reducing carbon emissions to zero percent by 2050.

"We already have experience in Korea regarding 'environment improvement'. Based on this experience, we want to explore cooperation with the Medan City Government," he said.
Head of the Medan City Environment Agency Muhammad Husni said the arrival of Korean companies engaged in the energy sector was still exploring environmental cooperation.
"Antara lain bagaimana mengurangi emisi carbon di Kota Medan, termasuk juga mengembangkan pola-pola kerja sama investasi ke depan," ujarnya lagi.
