President Director Of Pupuk Kaltim Wins Best CEO Visionary Leadership Award

JAKARTA - Throughout 2023 until the beginning of 2024, PT Pupuk East Kalimantan (Pupuk Kaltim) continues to consistently implement strategies and innovations in developing its business. Thanks to these efforts, Pupuk Kaltim often gets various achievements and recognitions, one of which is the award at the 2024 BUMN Award.

In the annual event which was held for the thirteenth time this year, Pupuk Kaltim won three awards for Best CEO of Visionary Leadership, Best Corporate in Carbonization Initiative, and the Best Company Superior Talent & Human Resource Development.

In line with the theme at the 2024 BUMN Award, namely 'Business Reinvention to Optimize Business Opportunities in Industry 4.0", Pupuk Kaltim is considered successful in efforts to develop company strategies as well as the implementation of business alignment activities or reinvention business which covers several aspects, namely growth, sustainability, inclusiveness, synergy, and collaboration within the company's scope.

When receiving the award directly on Wednesday, March 13 in Jakarta, Budi Wahju Soesilo, the President Director of Pupuk Kaltim expressed his gratitude. According to him, until now Pupuk Kaltim has succeeded in implementing a series of corporate strategies based on growth strategy principles, both in the production and supply sectors, business diversification, to geographical expansion.

"With this award achievement, Pupuk Kaltim is certainly more motivated to continue to innovate in realizing the best formula to manage the company, especially in the midst of industry demands 4.0 in all aspects of our business, in order to achieve better effectiveness and efficiency. In the future, we hope to be an inspiration for other companies in Indonesia to contribute to advancing the Indonesian economy, especially in the fertilizer and petrochemical industries, while still trying to be the best," said Budi Wahju Soesilo.

The jury for the 2024 BUMN Award event was chaired by Dr. Tanri Abeng, Minister of BUMN Pertama (1998-1999) as the BUMN Track Expert Council. With the achievement of these three awards, Pupuk Kaltim is considered capable of implementing strategies and innovations in two key aspects, namely the implementation of superior technology and human resource management, especially in supporting carbonization and reducing carbon emissions.

In the first decade since being initiated in 2022, Pupuk Kaltim is committed to reducing to a third of carbon emissions by 2030 and contributing to the government's target of achieving Net Zero Emission by 2060.

Still related to the theme of judging, to continue to develop its business, Pupuk Kaltim continues to implement operational excellence throughout its business lines and operations while maintaining national agricultural productivity and at the same time ensuring the safety of fertilizer distribution in order to support national food security. Not only that, in the sustainability aspect, the Pupuk Kaltim business has previously formulated a business plan for the 2021-2030 period, one of which focuses on effective and environmentally friendly technological innovation and is supported by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

Moreover, in terms of inclusiveness and synergy, the company is also committed to continuing to apply the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG), which emphasizes the importance of transparent, ethical, and responsible business practices.

In addition to various business reinvention efforts within the body of Pupuk Kaltim, Pupuk Kaltim also continues to collaborate with various stakeholders so that it can provide greater benefits for the community and the surrounding environment. One of these is implemented through the MAKMUR program which has been implemented since 2020 and is carried out together with Pupuk Indonesia through the synergy of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). Through this program, Pupuk Kaltim contributes to creating an ecosystem that supports the growth of farmers to continuous assistance.
