21 Youths In Purbalingga Arrested By Police During The Sarong War

PURBALINGGA - Polsek Kutasari Polres Purbalingga thwarted a sarong war at Jaka Kusuma Field, Karangcegak Village, Kutasari, Purbalingga Regency, Wednesday, March 13. At the location, the police arrested dozens of teenagers.

Kutasari Police Chief Iptu Heru Riyanto said it started with reports from residents who suspected that many teenagers had gathered in the field of Karangcegak Village. It is suspected that they were about to do a sarong war.

"With this information, we immediately went to the location and found dozens of teenagers who were suspected of wanting to fight a sarong," he explained.

The police chief said that at the location 21 teenage boys from Karangcegak Village, Sumingkir Village, Meri Village and Candiwulan Village were secured. 21 sarongs were also secured, some of which have been rolled up ready for the war on gloves, 11 cellphones and 6 motorcycles.

"The teenagers were then secured to the Kutasari Police along with the evidence," said the police chief.

From the statements of the teenagers, they previously communicated via WhatsApp to carry out a sarong war. After being determined the location at Jaka Kusuma Field, Karangcegak Village, they then arrived. It is planned that the sarong war will be carried out 5 against 5.

The police chief added to the teenagers that coaching steps would be taken. After the data collection was carried out, today all of them were presented along with their parents and village officials at the Kutasari Police Headquarters.

"We are taking steps to guide them by bringing parents and the village government. With the hope that they will not repeat their actions again," concluded the police chief.
