OJK Targets Financial Inclusion For 2.07 Million People Through The 'Sharia Movement' Program

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) targets to be able to present Islamic financial inclusion for 2,074,419 people through the 2024 Gebyar Ramadan Islamic Finance (Gerak Syariah) program with the theme 'Berburu Berkah Ramadan Through Islamic Finance'.

"The 2024 Sharia Movement will be held simultaneously in 35 OJK regional offices. Alhamdulillah, 124 planned inclusion activities with a total target of 2,074,419 people inclusion people," said Head of the OJK Sharia Literacy and Financial Inclusion Group M. Ismail Riyadi in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 13.

In addition to inclusion activities, his party also plans to carry out 295 literacy activities with a target of 786,929 participants and 146 supporting social activities which are expected to involve 669,347 volunteers.

These various activities will be carried out in collaboration with the office of representatives of Bank Indonesia, the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD), the Regional Committee for Sharia Financial Economy (KDEKS), and various business actors of Islamic financial services in the regions.

Ismail said that as an effort to increase the Islamic financial literacy and inclusion index by optimizing the momentum of Ramadan, the 2024 Sharia Movement was implemented with two main series of activities.

The first is 'Collax', namely 'Study and Chat around Islamic Finance'. This is an educational activity to increase public understanding of Islamic finance and financial management based on good sharia principles," he said.

He said that this activity would be packaged in an educational, informative, and attractive form for all community groups through webinars, podcasts, talk shows, and dissemination of content on social media channels.

Meanwhile, the second series of activities is called Kurma' or Syariah Financial Competition in the Month of Ramadan' which aims to increase the enthusiasm and creativity of the community to share information and knowledge about Islamic finance.

"Of course this is in line with the mission that the whole community can act as an agent of sharia financial education for the surrounding environment," he said.

Ismail said that the competition to be held includes the Sharia Financial Quantum Competition, the Sharia Financial Education Reels Competition, the Hadrah Competition, the Call for Content Competition with Islamic Finance, as well as weekly quizzes through social media channels. "We really hope that the implementation of this Sharia Movement can disseminate information, increase awareness, and educate the public about Islamic finance that can be utilized by all community groups because Islamic finance is inclusive, universal, and can meet their daily needs," he said.
