Second Day Of Fasting, Chicken Egg Price Reaches IDR 32 Thousand Per Kilogram, Eid Will Rise Again

JAKARTA - The price of chicken eggs continues to rise entering the beginning of Ramadan at Johar Baru Market, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, March 13. This condition is complained by a number of people because prices tend to increase.

"Well, if possible, all the basic necessities will go down. Before fasting, the price of chicken eggs was below Rp. 30 thousand, now it has gone up," said one of the buyers of eggs, Yati (53) to reporters.

Yati admitted that she owns a rice shop business. If the price of eggs goes up, she can only surrender to follow the selling price of the market.

"It's been a long time, so what about the little people? I'm also a rice trader. Like it or not, we have to buy chicken eggs because we need them," he said.

Meanwhile, according to Edy Suprapto (33), a chicken egg trader, the current increase in egg prices is IDR 32 thousand per kilogram. Before Ramadan, the price of chicken eggs was IDR 28 thousand and over time it increased by a multiple of IDR 1,000.

"The egg supply is safe. I don't know (up or not before Eid). Buyers tend to be normal, yesterday there was an increase because people need eggs," he said.

The increase in the price of chicken eggs also raises many complaints from customers who buy eggs.

Kris (30), another egg trader, said that the price of chicken eggs ahead of Eid will continue to experience a drastic increase

"There is already news that it will increase ahead of Eid. For safe supplies, there must be complaints from buyers, he said, how come the price continues to rise, yesterday it has gone up but continues to rise again," he said.

The increase in the price of chicken eggs depends on the price of chicken feed.

"If Ramadan is not surprised by people. The hope is that the price will go down, so that buyers will be happy," he said.
