TikTok Presents Effect Creator Rewards To 33 Other Countries, There Is A Requirement Update Too
JAKARTA - TikTok is expanding the presence of its monetization program, namely Effect Creator Rewards to 33 other countries. This program was first launched in May 2023, and is now available in 53 countries.
This monetization program will announce awards TikTok creators for the effects they have created through the TikTok AR development platform, Effect House.
The 33 new countries added are Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Belarus, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Uruguay.
Not only expanding program availability, but TikTok is also updating its program payment model. Previously, content creators needed an effect to use in 200,000 eligible videos within 90 days so that these effects could start collecting rewards.
But now, through this update, TikTok says that every effect only needs to be used in 100,000 eligible videos to start getting rewards.
When the program was launched for the first time, TikTok limited where effect makers required such effects to be used in 500,000 videos to get prizes.

Then ByteDance's social media lowered the number to 200,000 last October. Now, the number has decreased again to 100,000.
As for the updated payment model, now only effects are used in eligible public videos that will meet the requirements to collect prizes, while previously, eligible videos also included private videos.
With this new model, content creators collect rewards based on total quality videos that use their effects in the first 90 days, the company told TechCrunch.
