South Lampung BPBD Urges Residents To Beware Of Coastal Abrasion Phenomenon
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Lampung Regency appealed to coastal residents to increase their awareness of the coastal abrasion phenomenon that is currently happening.
"People on the coast should increase their awareness of the phenomenon of tidal flooding and coastal abrasion," said Head of BPBD South Lampung, Ariswandi, Tuesday, March 12.
According to local BPBD records, the condition of sea level in the coastal area of South Lampung when tides exceeded the maximum limit, so that it overflowed onto roads and residential areas, especially at night until the morning.
From this phenomenon, a number of beaches in Kalianda and Rajabasa sub-districts were flooded by tidal floods.
"To fishermen and residents who are on the beach to be vigilant considering that sea waves are still quite high to date," he said.
