Istiqlal Mosque Provides 6,000 Takjil Boxes Per Day During Ramadan 2024
JAKARTA - In order to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 1445 Hijri, the manager of the Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta provides 4,000 to 6,000 free takjil boxes every day.
"We are improving the preparation of this year's committee. To break the fast together last year, every Monday to Thursday 3,000 boxes were prepared. This year we will increase it to 4,000 boxes," said the Daily Chairperson of the Istiqlal Mosque Management Agency (BPMI) Ismail Chawidu in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 11.
Furthermore, Ismail said, for Friday to Sunday the Istiqlal Mosque will provide 6,000 takjil boxes. This number also increased compared to last year which only provided 4,000 takjil boxes.
Ismail said the provision of free takjil was assisted by 11 catering. This is done to anticipate that food is maintained and not stale.
"We don't build a public kitchen. The process is that we are assisted by 11 catering because if we serve 4,000-6.000 boxes, it's impossible for us to provide one catering. We also keep the food from being stale because at 16.00 we have to be ready," explained Ismail.

For people who want to visit the Istiqlal Mosque during this month of Ramadan, Ismail appealed to come earlier. This is to anticipate the struggle for a place given the large number of visitors in the holy month of Ramadan.
Then, Ismail also appealed to parents to accompany their children while in the mosque environment, and to dress neatly and politely, and not to overdo it.
