Thousands Of Electric Car Owners In Jakarta Have Their Own Electric Pom

JAKARTA - The energy transition in the transportation sector is increasingly evident from the increasing number of electric vehicle ecosystems, including supporting infrastructure. By the end of 2023, it was recorded that 2,247 electric car owners in Greater Jakarta had home charging or electricity pomping in houses connected to the PLN Mobile application.

General Manager of PLN Jakarta Distribution Main Unit, Lasiran explained that in 2023 the owner of an electric car that has home charging that has been connected to PLN Mobile in Jakarta will increase significantly compared to 2022.

"The increase in home charging owners in Jakarta and has been connected to the PLN Mobile application has reached 40%, a significant increase," said Lasiran in a written statement received by VOI Monday, March 11.

Owners of electricity stations connected to the PLN Mobile application can get electricity tariff discounts if they charge at night from 22.00 to morning at 05.00.

Lasiran added that customers who have home charging and want to do new pairs or add electricity also get discounts. Adding up to 11,000 Volt Ampere (VA) only pays IDR 150,000 from the normal price of IDR 11 million and for new pairs up to 7,700 VA only pays IDR 850,000 from the normal price of IDR 7.7 million.

"PLN strongly supports the energy transition with electric vehicles, many incentives are given, including discounted tariffs, adding power or installing bari for electric vehicle owners who install home charging," said Lasiran.

Just entering 2 months in 2024, PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit recorded an additional 727 home charging owners in Jakarta and its surroundings.

"I am confident and optimistic that electric vehicles are a necessity, both private and mass public transportation," concluded Lasiran.
