Heru Budi Urges The People Of DKI Jakarta To Maintain Health In The Middle Of Extreme Weather During Ramadan 2024

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono appealed to residents to always maintain health following the emergence of extreme weather caused by the transition of the season to Ramadan 1445 Hijri. "The condition of the weather due to the transition can have an impact on health. Therefore, I hope the residents of Jakarta pay more attention to the conditions of the air and the weather around," said Heru, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 11. Heru said that there are several diseases that have the potential to occur during extreme weather, such as dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) due to the potential for inundation to become mosquito nests.

Regarding dengue fever, Heru explained, it has taken anticipatory steps by involving residents in carrying out the Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) movement so that no area is infected. In addition, during this transition period, according to Heru, the declining rainfall will pose a risk of increasing air pollution, which also causes various diseases.

Related to this, Heru appealed to residents to pay more attention to air conditions and not to leave the house when air pollution increases unless it is in an urgent situation. "If we are forced to do activities outside the home, we must wear masks. We from the regional government will always prepare air pollution control strategies (SPPU) including conducting cross-sectoral collaborations," said Heru. Furthermore, Heru said that during the transition period, he also had the potential to increase respiratory infection disease.

Related to this, Heru reminded to be able to maintain health by adhering to the "CERDIK" guidelines, namely periodic health checks, cigarette smoke, diligent physical activity, healthy and balanced diet, adequate rest, and stress management.
