President Jokowi Says Happy Nyepi Day 2024

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) congratulated Hindus who performed the Catur Brata Penyepian ritual, Monday, March 11.

"Rahajeng Ratina Nyepi 2024. Warsa Anyar Caka 1946," said President Jokowi as quoted by Reels Instagram account @jokowi in Jakarta, quoted from Antara.

The account also includes a narrative of hope that Hindus wherever they are are are given smoothness in carrying out Catur Brata Penyepian.

Reporting from the Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia Circular about the implementation of Nyepi Day, Catur Brata Penyepian is an annual ritual that has a cultural spirit that contains a number of taboos.

This ritual must be carried out without the sound of loudspeakers and not turning on the lights at night.

However, this ritual is excluded for those who are sick or need services for safety and other things for humanitarian reasons.
