Selling Well, Huawei Electric Car Sales Reach More Than 20,000 Units In China During February

JAKARTA - Aito, a sub-brand for vehicles from Huawei, has achieved impressive results as the best-selling electric car manufacturer in China among other startup companies in two consecutive months.

Reporting from Bloomberg, Monday, March 11, the brand sent as many as 21,142 vehicles in February, according to data released by the company. Thus, this exceeds a number of the latest EV brands in other bamboo curtain countries such as Li Auto.

Li Auto delivered 20,251 units of vehicles during February, followed by Nio who only delivered 8,132 units or almost 20 percent of the previous month.

Meanwhile, other automotive brands such as Xpeng continue to increase production amid supply chain constraints by successfully obtaining 4,545 units of electric vehicles.

Huawei's electric vehicle sales acquired show that the tech giant has made some impressive breakthroughs in the globally friendly car market.

However, this number is still relatively small when compared to today's market leader, BYD, which gets 121,748 monthly sales in the Chinese market. The company offers a number of vehicles consisting of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV).

Then, it was also noted that Tesla's shipment from its plant in Shanghai had fallen to 60,365 units. Of these, 30,224 units were for export and 30,141 units for domestic delivery.

According to data released by the China's Passenger Car Association, the total retailed passenger vehicle shipments (excluding minivans) in February were 1.1 million units, a decrease of up to 21 percent compared to last year in the same period.

In addition, sales of all new energy vehicles in China achieved 388,000 units, a decrease of 12 percent from last year's achievement.
