Collaborating With Citra Cup Winners, Joko Anwar Admits That He Issued A Minimum Budget For Saksa Kubur Film

JAKARTA - Director Joko Anwar recently introduced his latest drama horror film entitled Saksa Kubur and is predicted to air after Eid 2024.

In this film, Joko specifically collaborates with several actors and crew who won the Citra Cup such as Reza Rahadian, Christine Hakim to Slamet Rahardjo. However, it turns out that Joko said he only issued minimal budget for this film.

He said this was because the production house that handles the Saksa Grave film, namely Come and See Pictures, was still relatively new. Therefore, he still has to spend from his own pocket.

However, Joko can guarantee that when this film airs, the audience will be presented with visuals that still look expensive and special.

"Our ph is new, our money is our own money, so it can't be expensive. But when you watch the film, it's like a really expensive film, from the teaser it looks 'oh shi*t'," said Joko Anwar in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, recently.

"Because people are really good, art directors, dop, everyone, make up, people who are introverted, all workers. It's not expensive, look at it expensive," he continued.

Not only the production house factor, this film can look expensive because the shooting location is done outside the city with quite tiring research.

"Because we shot it outside the city, the increase was using a special vehicle, therefore the 1800s tunnel had to walk up to it, it was expensive to have to carry tools up, pay people to take it up, the above is given facilities so that people can defecate, it's heavy," he concluded.
