Mampang Police Returns Mercedes-Benz Car Stolen By Former Driver

JAKARTA - The Mampang Prapatan Police returned the Mercedes-Benz car belonging to a man named Sigit which was stolen and taken away by his former driver.

"We have arrested three people," said Mampang Prapatan Police Chief Kompol David Y Kanito as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, March 9.

David said the three people were the former driver, the first hand to receive the stolen goods from the car, and the second hand to receive the stolen goods.

Mercy type CLA 200 was stolen by an employee of the car owner at the Kemchik Apartment on Jalan Kemang Raya, Bangka Village, Mampang Prapatan District, South Jakarta.

This car was sold to other people in November 2023. This car was only tracked on February 24, 2024.

From the results of the investigation and search by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mampang Prapatan Police, the theft case was successfully uncovered after the arrests of the suspects and the confiscation of evidence in several areas of Java and Bali.

"Then this car was found in Bali and we have secured it," he added.

The victim named Sigit appreciated the performance of the Mampang Prapatan Police, who after more than two months could finally find his car again.

"I thank the Mampang Police Chief for fighting so terrible," said Sigit.

Sigit admitted that he was pessimistic after two months of losing his car. However, he was amazed by the police and always received information about the traces of his car being rushed by the perpetrator.

"It turns out that Bali has also known that the color of the car and the car plate have changed, logically, I can find this car a bit pessimistic," he explained.
