Not Open Enough To The Public, Erick Will Call Six SOE Directors Status 'Red'

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that he was disappointed because there were six SOEs that were still red in terms of public information disclosure. Erick also admitted that he would summon the company's directors.

The six companies in question are PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum or Inalum, Perum Bulog, PT Resurance Umum Indonesia (Persero), PT Danareksa (Persero), PT Bahaan Pembinaan Usaha Indonesia (Persero) and PT Asabri (Persero).

"I am still disappointed with the six SOEs that are still red. Please call the board of directors next week," said Erick during the 2024 BUMN Corporate Communications and Sustainability Summit (BCOMSS) at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta, written Friday, March 8.

Erick said this summons was aimed at listening to explanations from the directors regarding red status in terms of public information disclosure.

Furthermore, Erick asked SOE directors who are still not open to being able to improve and improve in the future. Because, this is one of the important points in efforts to transform SOEs.

"BUMNs that are still red next week are called by their directors. Why is this the board of directors? Is it really wanted to be closed? You can't," said Erick.

Erick reminded that SOEs cannot be closed and must be more informative. This is part of the check and balance process in realizing good corporate governance (GCG) or good corporate governance.

"Check and balance must happen," he said.

Meanwhile, Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga said that SOEs under Erick Thohir's leadership were far open and carried out transformation.

Arya said, Erick provided space for all SOEs to work and take various initiatives over the past four years.

"With openness, GCG will be good. The results were seen, when Pak Erick entered, (BUMN) was only one informative, the other was red and there was even no information," said Arya.
