Dragged In The Case Of Alleged Corruption Of The Governor Of North Maluku, Director Of The Ministry Of Investment Deactivated

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Investment has disabled the Director of Downstream Mineral and Coal Hasyim Daeng Barang. Hasyim's deactivation is related to his alleged involvement in the alleged corruption case that ensnared the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba.

For your information, Hasyim himself was summoned twice on January 24, 2024 and March 1, 2024 by the KPK for examination as a witness in the alleged case of granting a business license without going through a mechanism and on orders from the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Gani Kasuba.

Special Staff for Relations with the Regional Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) Tina Talisa emphasized that Hasyim's investigation process had nothing to do with the Ministry of Investment/BKPM.

Tina explained that the examination was related to Hasyim's previous assignment in the North Maluku Provincial Government.

Previously, Mr. Hasyim was an official in the North Maluku Provincial Government, namely as Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Service and then served as Expert Staff of the Governor. So we need to emphasize once again that the current process has nothing to do with the Ministry of Investment/BKPM," Tina said in an official statement, Thursday, March 7.

Tina also said that currently Hasyim has been relieved of his duties or disabled from his position at the Ministry of Investment.

"The person concerned has been released from the position of Director at the Ministry of Investment/BKPM dated February 2, 2024," he said.
