APMI Hopes For A New Government To Be More Sensitive In Supporting The Performance Industry

JAKARTA - Dino Hamid as Chair of the Indonesian Music Promoter Association (APMI) hopes that the upcoming Indonesian government will be able to play a more active role in supporting the Indonesian performance industry.

"Hopefully the new government will be more sensitive to this," said Dino Hamid in Gambir, Central Jakarta recently.

Dino said the post-pandemic performance industry was starting to get excited again, but the potential to develop bigger is still very open. Moreover, the performance industry is felt to be able to have a big impact on the national economy.

The understanding of the macro and micro economic impact on the performance industry, I think it still needs to be developed. Because as I said, our industry (music promoter) has just grown and has tremendous attention after the pandemic, especially in the current era, which is digital and different before the pandemic," he said.

Furthermore, the APMI chairman said that Indonesia also has great potential to make exclusive concerts, such as what Singapore did to Taylor Swift.

Dino believes that what Indonesia currently has is able to attract great musicians from abroad, if the government provides full support.

"Moreover, we are actually different from Singapore, we have several international stages, in Jakarta, Bandung, and Bali. We should be able to exclusively do three cities," concluded Dino Hamid.
