ID FOOD President Director: Egg Price Increase Can Be Overcome By Holding Cheap Markets
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (Persero) or ID FOOD Frans Marganda Tambunan said an increase in egg prices in the market would be overcome by holding a low-cost market.
"For broiler eggs, there are indeed issues of experiencing price increases in the market. Therefore, cheap markets can be carried out to overcome this," he said during a specific working visit of Commission IV of the DPR RI in Bandarlampung, Lampung, quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 7.
He said the cheap market was carried out to maintain the stability of egg prices in the market, especially ahead of the national religious holidays.
"We are ready to carry out this cheap market activity, especially for eggs, because we also contribute to the cheap market movement carried out by the National Food Agency," he said.
He also said that in the implementation of the cheap market movement, 300 points had been prepared throughout Indonesia.
"There are already 300 points prepared for the activities of the cheap market movement, one of which is of course in Lampung Province. Hopefully this can again maintain the stability of food prices," he said.
He said that apart from eggs, it is also possible to carry out low-cost market activities, by adding chicken meat commodities as commodities sold because there is also an increase in prices for these commodities.

"Later, apart from eggs, chicken meat will also be one of the commodities in the cheap market. Actually, efforts to help chicken farmers, as well as independent eggs are not only when the price goes up. When the price of eggs and chicken meat is cheap, we become off-takers for them by buying eggs and chicken meat according to the price set by the government," he added.
At the Way Halim People's Market in Bandarlampung City, the price of chicken eggs reaches IDR 30 thousand-IDR 35 thousand per kilogram from the normal price of IDR 27 thousand per kilogram.
Meanwhile, the price of chicken meat is sold at a price of IDR 32 thousand-IDR 35 thousand per one.
