JK Alludes To The Process Of Counting Election Voices: Old Manual, Using Computers Is Also Wrong
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) 10th and 12th Jusuf Kalla (JK) highlighted the vote counting system after the elections in the country. This problem, he said, made you confused because the use of technology was not easy but prone to abuse.
This was conveyed by JK when he was the main speaker or keynote speaker in the discussion 'Consolidation for Democracy Post-Ection 2024: Opposition or Coalition?' at the Auditorium Juwono Sudarsono Fisip UI, Depok, Thursday, March 7.
"We'll see this process in Indonesia. We have a bit of a problem, we are a bit indecisive too, the election is delayed by the manual for too long, you can imagine... we are using the wrong computer," said JK.
"Because of this mistake, in the end, the existing system cannot be used optimally," said JK. In the end, we have digital use, internet display only. Keep recounting again,' he said.
JK assessed that this condition actually caused a danger that the victims were the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS). In fact, he said that many officers died in the 2019 and 2024 elections.
"Now almost 100 people (who died, ed). The cost is too big," he said.
Therefore, the current situation, including the question of the vote counting system that is not running optimally, must be a concern. All parties should be honest and not cover up the existing conditions.
"Come on, this is the end again because of the end of honesty," said JK.

Previously reported, vote counting by the General Elections Commission (KPU) using the vote recapitulation system (Sirekap) was highlighted by many parties. Recently, the institution has not even broadcasted the diagrams and charts for the votes acquired by the 2024 Presidential Election and the 2024 Legislative Election on their website.
"Now the KPU policy only displays authentic evidence of the votes acquired by election participants," said KPU member Idham Holik in his statement, Tuesday, March 5.
He explained that this step was taken to prevent public prejudice due to data discrepancies. Because, there are some disturbances that cause the number of voice acquisitions from scanned and on the C1-Plano Model to be different.
"When the results of the Sirekap technology reading are not or are not accurate and have not been curated by uploaders, polling groups (KPPS), and regency/city KPU Sirekap operators, will become polemics in public spaces that create prejudice," he said.
