Minister Of SOEs: The Presence Of Ultramicro BUMN Holding Has A Real Impact On MSMEs

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said the presence of an ultra-micro BUMN holding had a real impact on ultra-micro business actors and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

"Mr. President (Joko Widodo) said he was happy with the presence of the ultra-micro holding because it had a real impact on ultra-micro business actors and MSMEs," Erick said at the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2024 in Jakarta, Thursday, quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 7.

Ultramicro BUMN holding consists of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), PT Pegadaian, and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM). The presence of this ultra-micro holding is an effort by the Ministry of SOEs in uniting the ecosystem between BRI, Pegadaian, and PNM to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs.

Erick said SOEs and MSMEs must continue to collaborate in increasing national economic growth.

"With the number of MSMEs reaching 65 million, the contribution is not kidding for the Indonesian economy by contributing 61 percent of GDP, and 97 percent of employment also comes from MSMEs," said Erick.

Erick emphasized that the ultra-micro holding will not stop serving ultra-micro business actors and MSMEs. This is in line with Joko Widodo's commitment to ultra-micro business actors and MSMEs.

The number of customers to ultra-micro holding business credit transactions has continued to experience significant growth in recent years. Currently, it has served around 8.2 ultra-micro customers with loans reaching Rp. 10 million and 16 million people's business credit customers (KUR) with loans of up to Rp. 500 million.

"The largest surge that was conveyed by the President was PNM Mekaar customers from 2015, which has only reached 400,000 customers, now it has reached 15.2 million customers," he said.

In 2015, the amount of PNM Mekaar's credit disbursement was IDR 800 billion. Then in 2024, the figure reached IDR 244 trillion.

Erick said this momentum made SOEs committed to continuing the program. He asked the ultramicro holding not to be complacent with this achievement.

Erick targets the number of PNM Mekaar customers to continue to increase to reach 20 million customers. Not only from the number of customers, Erick also encourages optimization of assistance so that customers can advance to class and be able to penetrate the international market.

"Hopefully with this positive trend, we will be able to bring one million ultramicro business actors up to the micro segment every year," said Erick.
