Four Students In Jayapura Become Sindikat Curanmor Gasak 8 Motor, The Money Is Buying Drugs

SENTANI - Jayapura Police, Papua, dismantled a student syndicate suspected of being involved in the theft of motorized vehicles (curanmor) by securing evidence of eight motorcycles.

Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Fredrickus WA Maclarimboen said the four students of the curanmor syndicate had the initials SY (16), RW (17), AD (17) and FS (18).

"This case was initially uncovered based on a police report made by one of the victims with the initials LK (26) on February 26, 2024, where on February 24, 2024 the victim parked his vehicle at the Bustomi futsal field in Hawaii Sentani, then when he returned his motorbike was gone or missing," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 6.

From the report, a team from the Sentani City Police conducted an investigation and secured the perpetrators.

"The motive is the economy to meet their needs according to their wishes, one of which is bartering with marijuana-type narcotics," he said.

"We will use child justice and coordinate with the Correctional Center (Bapas). These four suspects are charged with Article 363 paragraph (1) junto Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison," he continued.
