Minister Of Religion Urges People To Keep Ukhuwah Responding To Potential Differences In The Beginning Of Ramadan

Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas appealed to Muslims to maintain ukhuwah and tolerance in responding to the potential for initial differences in Ramadan 1445 Hijri/2024 AD.

"Muslims are advised to maintain ukhuwah Islamiyah and tolerance in responding to the potential difference in the determination of 1 Ramadan 1445 Hijri/2024 AD," Yaqut said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 6.

The Minister of Religion's appeal was contained in Circular Number 1 of 2024 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Ramadan Worship and Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijri/2024 AD.

Previously, the Tarjih Council of Muhammadiyah Central Executives set the beginning of Ramadan to coincide with March 11, 2024. There are also some tarekat pilgrims who will start fasting on March 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Government will hold an early Ramadan 1445 H session on March 10, 2024. The trial will decide whether this year's Ramadan fasting will begin on March 11 or 12.

The complete provisions of the Circular of the Minister of Religion No. 1 of 2024, among them Muslims are encouraged to maintain ukhuwah Islamiyah and tolerance in responding to the potential difference in determining 1 Ramadan 1445 Hijri/2024 AD.

Muslims carry out Ramadan worship and Eid al-Fitr in accordance with Islamic law and uphold the value of tolerance.

Muslims are encouraged to carry out various activities in mosques, prayer rooms, and other places in the context of Ramadan symbols and convey messages of piety and strengthen brotherhood among the nation's children.

Takbir traveling is carried out following the provisions of the local government and security forces while maintaining order, upholding the values of tolerance, and maintaining ukhuwah Islamiyah.

Eid al-Fitr 1 Syawal 1445 Hijri/2024 AD can be held in mosques, prayer rooms, and the field. The material for Ramadan lectures and Eid al-Fitr sermons is conveyed by upholding the ukhuwah of Islamiyah, prioritizing the values of tolerance, unity and integrity of the nation, and not being charged with practical politics.

The Ministry of Religion also appealed to Muslims to further optimize zakat, infaq, waqf, and alms in the month of Ramadan in order to improve the welfare of the people.

Minister of Religion Yaqut also advised Muslims in Ramadan's syiar to continue to follow the Circular Letter of the Minister of Religion Number 05 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Use of Loudspeakers in Mosques and Mushala.

This circular regulates the volume of loudspeakers to be regulated as needed, and the biggest is 100 dB (one hundred deaths).

Especially regarding Ramadan's symbols, this circular regulates the use of loudspeakers in the month of Ramadan, both in the implementation of tarawih prayers, Ramadan lectures/trials, and the Koran tadarus using deep loudspeakers.

Meanwhile, takbir Eid al-Fitr in mosques/mushala can be done using an outer loudspeaker until 22.00 local time and can be continued with an inner loudspeaker.
