Tiram Boudal Cultivation Increases Food Diversification And Security At IKN
The Capital Authority of the Archipelago (OIKN) said that fungal cultivation can increase food diversification and security in IKN, East Kalimantan.
"It's time for us to become perpetrators of IKN development, driving food security through the use of modern and efficient local resources, so that we can produce food quickly but remain affordable, healthy and quality," said Expert from the OIKN Food Security Directorate P Setia Lenggono as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 5.
Lenggono said that the IKN Authority collaborated with the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya, to hold Annimal fungal cultivation training (Pleurotus ostreatus) in Sukaraja Village, IKN.
This activity not only plays a role in supporting food readiness in IKN, but also offers economic opportunities that are profitable for business actors.
In addition, thissteric fungi cultivation has the potential to increase food diversification.
This training is addressed to participants who are members of the local community and farmer associations in the capital. Lenggono said that the main objective of this training was to provide participants with practical knowledge regarding the quality organic tiramic mushrooms cultivation process.
"We want to make sure farmers in the IKN area are ready to face this challenge. One of them is through the development of annimal mushrooms cultivation business, so that it can open a new chapter in sustainable agribusiness development and make a positive contribution to the economic welfare of local communities," he said.
In order to prepare for the fulfillment of food needs in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), OIKN continues to be consistent and actively develop human resources around IKN.
One of them is through organizing training that focuses on urban agriculture that is efficient, space-efficient, modern, and profitable, both for the general public and farmers in the capital city.
This activity consists of interactive sessions and in-depth practices on various topics, including preparation of effective planting media, sterilization procedures, seed manufacturing techniques from F0-F1-F2, baglog manufacturing methods, standardization of moldy convexes, and treatments needed to ensure optimal yields.
