Australian Foreigner Who Drowned While Surfing On The Beach Of Grajagan Banyuwangi Found Dead
BANYUWANGI - The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team of Banyuwangi, East Java, Tuesday, found a foreign national (WNA) from Australia in a state of death after being declared missing while surfing on Grajagan Beach.
Banyuwangi SAR Post Coordinator Wahyu Setia Budi said the joint SAR team consisted of Basarnas, BPBD, TNI/Polri, and others managed to find Ganther Henry Kitzler (56) dead about 5 kilometers from the scene at Grajagan Beach, in Grajagan Village/District.
"On the second day of the search at around 00:00 WIB, the joint SAR team found that the Australian tourist had died," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 5.
After the joint SAR team found the victim, Wahyu continued, then the body of a foreign national from the land of Kangaroo was taken to the Blambangan Hospital.
"We urge the public to remain careful when surfing or bathing in the sea," said Wahyu.

The victim drowned by the waves while surfing with two of his friends, Kingston Christhoper Max and Gregor.
Initially, Gunther and Gregor arrived at Grajagan Beach on Monday morning at around 05.30 WIB and the victim surfed early. Not long after, Gregor and Christoper saw the Gunther surfboard floating on the surface of the sea water.
The two fellow victims tried to provide help by pulling the victim to the beach, but the effort was in vain because the waves hit them and the victim was lost by the current.
