Army Chief Of Staff Ensures Held Periodic Shooting Exercises With Helicopters

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak ensures that he will hold regular helicopter firing exercises to improve combat skills.

"The ability of our helicopters is also extraordinary. We will hold this exercise regularly so that the capabilities of our members will continue to be maintained, even increasing," Maruli said while directly monitoring the Aircraft Weapon Shooting Exercise (Latbakjatpesud) conducted by the Army Aviation Center (Puspenerbad) in Bandung, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 5.

Maruli explained that the exercise was needed to train the skills of the army pilots when providing attack assistance to troops on land.

In addition, the exercise aims to train coordination between troop components, as well as a response to the situation that may occur on the ground.

The exercise also aims to ensure the readiness of personnel to face their duties professionally, as well as control the defense equipment he is working on.

With this series of exercises, he hopes that all army flight troops will be able to carry out their duties to the fullest.

Today's exercise involved Puspenerbad's personnel and air defense equipment consisting of two Apache AH 64E Helicopters, three US Fennec Helicopters 550 C3, two Bell 412 Helicopters, and one MI 17 V5 Helicopter.

After reviewing the training directly, Maruli and the ranks of the Indonesian Army handed over social assistance to people living around the training area, as well as planting fruit tree seedlings.
