Ministry Of Transportation Prepares 722 Buses For Free Homecoming Participants 2024
The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has prepared 722 bus units to serve public transportation through the 2024/Idulfitri 1445 Hijri Free Homecoming Program.
"Of these buses, the Directorate General of Hubdat provided as many as 30,088 free homecoming quotas consisting of 24,368 people for homecoming flow and 5,720 people for backflow," said Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendro Sugiatno in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, March 5.
Hendro said that this year's Directorate General of Hubdat also provides 900 units of quota for transporting motorbikes by truck for free.
"A quota of 450 units is provided for homecoming with 15 trucks and 450 units for backflow which are transported by 15 trucks as well. So there will be 30 trucks," said Hendro.
He further said that the city for homecoming and homecoming in 2024 was 33 cities spread across the provinces of West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Kalimantan and Sumatra.
In detail, 3 destination cities in West Java are Garut, Tasikmalaya and Cirebon. Then in Central Java-DIY Province as many as 19 cities namely Solo, Tegal, Pekalongan, Semarang, Demak, Jepara, Pati, Blora, Boyolali, Klaten, Wonogiri, Purwokerto, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Magelang, Wonosari, Sragen and Yogyakarta.
Furthermore, the provinces of East Java 5 cities are Madiun, Surabaya, Tuban, Malang, and Tulungagung. In Kalimantan 2 cities namely Banjarmasin and Pangkalan Bun and the last 4 cities of Sumatra namely Lampung, Palembang, Bengkulu and Padang.
Meanwhile, for the city as long as the backflow is found in 9 cities, namely Solo, Cirebon, Madiun, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, Wonogiri, Yogyakarta and Pelembang. As for the homecoming destination and back for the transportation of 5 motorcycles, namely Solo, Semarang, Purwokerto, Wonogiri and Yogyakarta," he said.
He mentioned that the handover of motorbikes for homecoming activities was carried out on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Terminal Type A Pondok Cabe, South Tangerang and will depart on Friday, April 5, 2024.
For passenger departure of the homecoming flow, it departs from 6 terminals, namely the Pulogebang Jakarta Terminal, Pondok Cabe Terminal, South Tangerang and Jatijajar Terminal, Depok, on April 6, 2024. Meanwhile, the Kampung Rambutan Terminal Jakarta, Poris Plawad Terminal, Tangerang and W A Terminal Gara Central Kalimantan on April 7, 2024," he continued.
He said that for the departure of the backflow of motorcycle transport on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 5 type A terminals, namely Solo, Semarang, Purwokerto, Wonogiri and Yogyakarta.

"Registration for free homecoming is open from March 6, 2024 to April 3, 2024 or if the quota has run out through the MitraDarat application which can first be downloaded on the Appstore or Playstore," said Director General Hendro.
He appealed to people who will return to their hometowns in the framework of Eid 2024 to participate in the Free Homecoming Program, either organized by the Ministry of Transportation or other Ministries / Agencies, especially for those planning to ride two-wheeled vehicles to their hometowns.
"We hope that the Ministry of Transportation's Free Homecoming Program can prevent people from going home on motorbikes, especially with a long distance. We do not recommend going home on motorbikes because it is more risky for accidents to occur," he concluded.
