After Suzuki EVX Released, Toyota's First Electric SUV Launches In India In 2025
JAKARTA - Not a special secret in the Indian market, Toyota partnered with Suzuki to share a platform and vehicle model. This collaboration will also continue in the development of electric SUVs.
Reporting from Autocar India, Tuesday, March 5, Suzuki will launch its first electric vehicle (EV), the eVX which will be launched in March 2025 and then Toyota will present a production version of the concept of the Urban SUV with the same base in India six months later.
As is well known, one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world showed off Urban's concept at the end of last year. This car is referred to as an affordable EV option ever introduced by the company.
The Urban SUV has a length of 4,300 mm, a width of 1,820 mm, a height of 1,620 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, almost the same as a Suzuki eVX. In terms of style, this car also resembles the concept of a bZ Compact SUV that was previously exhibited in 2022.
Carrying a minimalist design, this car uses an LED DRL light in the form of a 'C' on the front and a futuristic bumper. The SUV has a wide rim and perpendicular silhouette pattern, so it has a strong and tough impression.
The back has a design language similar to the eVX, especially the door and glass. This Toyota Urban SUV has a backdoor handle that is placed on the C pillar.

Although the interior is not disclosed, it is likely to use designs and components such as eVX. In addition, this car has a lot of space and flexibility thanks to the EV-only platform, which is 27PL.
The car will offer two battery pack options, namely 60 kWh with a range of about 550 km and an entry-level version of 48 kWh with a distance of 400 km. The Japanese manufacturer says that the SUV has FWD and AWD drive options with dual electric motors for a number of markets.
