Member Of Commission VII DPR F-PKS Mulyanto Asks KPK To Check Bahlil About Activation Of IUP And HGU Land Oil

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR Mulyanto asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to examine the Minister of Investment and Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia in his capacity as Head of the Land and Planning Planning Task Force.

The reason is, as the Head of the Investment Use and Planning Task Force, Bahlil is suspected of abusing his authority in revoking and reactivating the Mining Business License (IUP) and the Cultivation Rights (HGU) of oil palm land in several regions.

Bahlil allegedly asked for compensation for billions of rupiah or share participation in each natural company to revoke and return the IUP and HGU.

Mulyanto said, the existence of the task force for structuring the use of land and arrangement of overlapping investments. According to him, the activation of the IUP and HGU of oil palm land should have become domains of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"This task should be the domain of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources because the laws and presidential decrees related to mining businesses are in the working area of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, not the Ministry of Investment," said Mulyanto in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, March 4.

The PKS politician assessed that the government seemed arbitrary in giving authority to certain institutions. Because, said Mulyanto, mining affairs that should have become the authority of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources are now being taken over by the Ministry of Investment.

"In fact, mining management cannot only be seen from the point of view of investment but also related to the environment and sovereignty of the use of national natural resources," he said.

Mulyanto assessed that the formation of a task force led by Bahlil was a requirement for political interests. He suspects that the formation of this task force is an effort to legalize the search for funds for one of the election participants. Because he said, his formation was ahead of the 2024 presidential election campaign.

"Regardless of political affairs, I see the existence of this task force will damage the national mining ecosystem," he said.
