Garuda Indonesia Gradually Increases Domestic Flight Frequency
JAKARTA - The national airline Garuda Indonesia revealed, from April to August 2024 it will gradually increase the frequency of flights on more than 16 domestic routes spread across various regions of the archipelago. The increase is a form of Garuda Indonesia's support in encouraging foreign tourist visits to travel in Indonesia. "Garuda Indonesia will also gradually increase flight frequency on more than 16 domestic routes spread across various regions of the archipelago," said Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 2. The route includes flights from Jakarta to a number of major cities such as Palembang, Yogyakarta, Pontianak, Batam, Pekanbaru, Padang, Semarang. Then Balikpapan, Makassar, Banda Aceh, Jakarta-Pangkalpinang, Jakarta-Tanjungpinang, Jakarta-Lalang, Denpasar-Labuan Bajo, Jakarta-Lombok, Makassar-Gorontalo. "In the midst of optimism of the current growth of the global tourism industry, the increase in flight frequency is one of the stimulants for the trend of public travel which is expected to be a momentum to promote Nusantara's leading destinations, so that it will have a positive impact on the national economy," he explained.

Furthermore, Irfan revealed that in addition to increasing flight frequency on potential routes, optimizing Garuda Indonesia flight services is also realized by expanding the flight network, including opening new routes.
It is recorded that in the first semester of this year, Garuda Indonesia will inaugurate the Jakarta-Doha flight route seven times per week starting April 4, 2024, and inaugurate the Makassar-Manado flight route with a service frequency of twice per week starting May 3.
