SUM 41 Appears 'Crazy' From Start To End At Separation Concert

JAKARTA - SUM 41 appeared "crazy" in front of fans during a farewell concert titled Tour of the Setting Sum which was held at Uptown Park Summarecon Mall Serpong, Tangerang on Friday, March 1 evening.

After Ignite's appearance as the opener, Deryck Whibley (vocals), Dave Baksh (guitar), Jason McCaslin (bass), Tom Thacker (guitar, keyboard), and Frank Zummo (drums) climbed onto stage at 21.00 WIB.

SUM 41 had kicked off from the start, they immediately brought The Hell Song, Motivation, and Over My Head (Better Off Dead).

"It's been a very long time (since we were here). But finally we're back to appearance here (Indonesia). We're ready to go crazy," said Deck Whibley.

More than 20 repertoires were brought by SUM 41 for approximately two hours. They played the material from EP Half Hour of Power (2000) to the album Heaven:x: Hell which will be released at the end of March.

Every time he had the opportunity to talk, Whibyy repeatedly invited the audience to "increase". Everything he said was followed by the audience, starting from jumping, raising hands, and bowing. SUM 41 and thousands of spectators who attended went crazy together.

On this occasion, Whibley also expressed his gratitude to fans and announced the farewell work of SUM 41.

"We will be releasing a new song, soon, this March. But this will be our last recording," said Deryck Whibley.

Spectators cheered in response to the announcement. They did not seem to agree that SUM 41 had to stop playing music.

"Thank you for the cheers," said Whibley again with a laugh.

At the end of his performance, SUM 41 performed a repertoire of his best songs, such as Pieces, In Too Deep, and Still Waiting.

Fat Lip, the hit from the album All Killer No Filler (2001) was the closing of the 41st SUM concert last night. The audience still hasn't lost their energy, they sing along the song.

"Goodbye, thank you to everyone. Thank you," said Deck Whibley at the end of his performance.
