Islamic Boarding School For Santri Cases In Kediri Died In Unlicensed Persecution Continues To Operate, East Java Regional Office Reports To Ministry Of Religion

SURABAYA - The Regional Office (Kanwil) of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of East Java is conducting an investigation into the Tatricul Quran (PPTQ) Islamic boarding school (Ponpes) Al Hanifiyyah Kranding Village, Mojo District, Kediri Regency, which does not have an operational permit.

"We will report it to the center later, because the pesantren does not have an operational permit," said Head of Diniyah Education and Islamic Boarding School of the East Java Ministry of Religion, Mohammad As'adul Anam, Friday, March 1.

As'ad said Al Hanifiyyah Islamic Boarding School was a place for students from Bintang Balqis Maulana, 14, a resident from Karangharjo Village, Glenmore District, Banyuwangi, who was tortured to death by fellow students.

Pondok, who has started activities since 2014, is in the Al Ishahiyyah area, and the hut is a separate part.

"Kami saat di TKP kejadian itu ada di Pondok Pesantren Al Hanifiyyah, bukan di Al Ishahiyyah. Tetapi korban juga belajar di MTs Sunan Kalijogo di Pondok Pesantren Al Ishahiyyah," ujarnya.

As'ad stated that his party was investigating, exploring, and digging up information regarding the whereabouts of the boarding school. Furthermore, the information will be reported to the leadership, both the Head of the Regional Office of the East Java Provincial Ministry of Religion and also the Ministry of Religion.

"We will first dig up information with the team, and explore it and then we will report it to the center," he said.

As for the case, As'ad emphasized that his party fully handed over its handling to the police. He hopes that the law can be enforced fairly, so that there will be a deterrent effect in the future.

"We really respect the legal process and we are waiting for the next stages. So that people can get a clear solution and the case can be resolved," he said.
